I wonder if the black trim from American Muscle would look just as good. I want the black separation, but I'm a sissy when it comes to putting paint on my car. I'm by no means a pro...
used the masking tape and taped off the 3 molded squares....once i taped off the squares, i used a pen to ensure the tape is pressed firmly into the corners and also draw a line to indicate where u need to cut with the razor when its time to trim off the excess tape........
used the utility knife with light/moderate pressure to trim off the excess tape....
used the spray paint and applied a thin layer of paint....repeated 2 more times allowed time to dry in between....
allowed ample time to dry then carefully removed the tape....
looks great! definetly going to give this a shot this weekend.
I think I'll use some black pinstriping and just carefully put it on.
Just a cautionary note: the reason for using tape and razor (Xacto) method is that trying to tape off the area with precision is very hard, difficult to get a really clean line. That's a general problem with tape (unless it's that thin super flex stuff).
I fear your pinstripe idea is going to run into a similar problem...and then there's the overlap of tape edges (which will show)...
The paint method shown above is really easy and likely cost the same as getting the pinstripe tape. And with that Krylon stuff 0NF1R found you don't even have to scuff them; just tape, cut, shoot. You could even do it on the car if you really wanted. Just a thought - good luck anyway!
