16 inch Pony wheels on my GT

In the back for sure.
For the front, it might be a different story since the caliper brackets are not the same than the sixxer.
There's a chance that the rim might touch the caliper.
I still think you'll be OK though...

Won't work. The 17's on my 05 gt barely clear the stock calipers. I would suggest looking on newtakeoff.com, or brenspeed.com. Both have takeoff wheels. You could also check out craig's list but just make sure they are the right offset.

The 16" wheel won't fit the GT brakes - the rear brakes are the same on the V6 and GT so not a problem there.
I wonder though if the 16" would fit with a spacer? I run a 15" wheel up front at the track, but had to put a 3/8" spacer on so it would clear the caliper.

Its the INSIDE diameter of the V6 16" rim is the
problem, not the spokes to caliper clearance....
The GT rotor is bigger and the caliper is placed
farther out from the rotational center to accommodate
the larger GT rotor.
Get V6 caliper brackets and V6 front rotors and the
16" rims will then fit....
And the 16s didnt come on the PoniePackies.
They had the upgraded 17" rims OEM.
I gotem 17s that will fit and make good winter rims...
PM me if interested.... I am very tired of storing them....

I understand that 157 - and I have the GT front brakes on my car with the black bullitts (and in 2006 the Pony package came with 17" bullitts, I just opted to go with a new set in black).
EDIT: I just noticed that the original poster called it "Pony" wheels so that is what you were referring to!
I was able to fit the 15" Jeg's Sports Star wheel up front with the spacer on my GT front brakes. It is a 4" wheel though rather than the 7" on the 16" base wheel so that may be why it will clear the caliper once it is pushed out with the spacer. So I suspect that the 16" wheel issue with GT front brakes is a combination of both the smaller diameter as well as the fact that a spacer won't push it out far enough (at least not safely anyway), while the 15" front skinnies are able to clear the caliper simply because there isn't much to push out and the back spacing doesn't put the caliper inside the diameter. I'll have to take a closer look next time at the track.

I don't see where a cheap set of 17" takeoffs for winter use would be an issue over 16". Don't even agonize over 16's and get some 17" takeoffs. You'll still look "fashionable".
