Default GT500 Front valance on a GT

So I've been really wanting to put on a front chin spoiler on my stang but they are all fairly expensive. I researched about a GT500 front valance on a GT and it is possible with some modifications as I have found out from other forums. The problem is the most recent posts about it are from 2008 and i guess you could get them for $65 from a Ford dealer back then and now they are a couple hundred bucks at the dealers. I have found a site that sells it for $125 which is much better but I want to know if anyone has found a cheaper deal or has installed one in the past year. I have an idea of how to install it but any info would be great

I thought you had to change the lights and hood to do this mod or are you just talking about the bottom piece like the chin spoiler. If that is the case then I recall you have to trim the gt500 piece a little to fit right but it would work on a GT front end

Which are you trying to do? I'm confused...

Look through this https://mustangforums.com/forum/part...00-brembo.html

He did the conversion.

He's talking about the GT500 chin spoiler/lower lip. The GT500 front end is like $2k but the lower lip can be found for under $100 and can be altered to fit a GT front. You could also get a Cervinis Type III chin, which is identical to the GT500 and is designed to fit the GT, but it's $215

yes exactly what alec said, I dont want to do the whole conversion just the front chin spoiler...I was wondering if anyone on here has done just that to their GT not the whole conversion recently...and yea ive looked at the cervini's chin spoiler, it looks good but every saved dollar is better for me haha

Heres the write up someone did for it 3 years ago http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...ustang-gt.html

Here's the link for the actual chin spoiler

The chin spoiler is a simple attachment that fits almost perfectly. The only problem you may run into is the holes not lining up. Sometimes, they fit perfectly and strangely enough, sometimes they don't. I don't know why but it's weird. The gt500 conversion kit is when you have to remove the headlights and everything else. I think the cheapest you can find it for is around $1,500. IMO i like your thinking but im saving up for the whole converssion kit.

well according to that persons write up in my last post, you need to cut out a couple of pieces and even if it doesnt line up, i wouldnt mind drilling my own holes into the chin spoiler to line it up...im just trying to find the cheapest way to get it

the problem with me is that i would rather do a cam, intake manifold type of thing for $1500, thats why im going the cheap route with this

here's one made in Carbon fiber made to fit the GT. Pricey but worth it.

I modified and installed one back in 2007, it was a cheap and easy mod.
