Default Red/blue halo lights

I recently have seen some blue halo lights on a mustang, so I started looking at pics and really like red halo lights. I then looked up something about blue and red being illegal in California? My questions are, are blue and red HALO lights illegal in all states or just Cali, and what does 10k 8k lights mean?

http://www.automotivelightstore.com/...lehalokit.aspx

This link shows are 10k 8k 6k etc. I was talking about.

Thanks, David

They are illegal in any state.
They look too much like emergency vehicles.

10k, 8k etc means the temperature measured in Kelvin (K) and also the color.
6k would be a pure white, 8k has a blueish tint, 3k has a yellowish tint etc

And yeah, blue/red lights aren't gonna fly. They're illegal for emergency reasons. Plus I don't think it would look good to begin with

Red looks legit. So 8k would be bluish and 10k more blue?

Just want to make a quick correction here in regaurds to the K ratings. 5k is your pure white, 6k has a slight blue color to it and 8k is blue and so on. Also, don't be fooled in to thinking the higher K rating the briter the light. Anything beond 8k is pretty much useless if you want to see anything at night. Here is the color chart:

Because it looks bad *** with the red halos, not the actual lights, just halos in red. I think I will go with 8k. Thank you cutterwolf very much for that picture! I guess res ia illegal on Ohio
