Painted differential cover
I had been meaning to swap out my rear end fluid (hold the jokes please) and a fellow car guy mentioned that he was painting the diff carrier in his BMW Grabber Green. I liked the idea and went back and forth between Ford Blue and Grabber Green and decided to go with the more unique route as I've always liked the hot pink or green accents on race cars. So I now have a green diff cover.
I used Duplicolor engine paint, which was really, really nice to work with. It went on beautifully. The issue (which I expected) was that tightening the bolts cracked the paint surrounding them. I think the ceramic in the engine paint exacerbated this. Next time I will probably use different paint and also mask the area around the holes. All in all though it pleases me to know it's down there where only the really observant will notice. It was also a super cheap mod.
My friend driving behind me did say that it is visible if I catch the crest of a hill at the right time.
