I had mine done just before my warranty ran out. It may be difficult to get Ford to fix it unless you got an extended warranty or you still have a few months left before it runs out.
Good Luck!

Check the warranty guide for sure. For 2007, it was 5 years, with unlimited mileage for corrosion, BUT it was for perforation only. I think Ford was covering it under 3/36,000 if there was corrosion, even though there was no perforation.

My wifes 2009 escape was redone last year by dealer for paint bubbles on hood. Under the 36/36 warranty at time.

From what I understand, the aluminum hood was contaminated before it was ever painted. You could try the dealer you bought it from, just copy the TSB and show it to them.
Do you see bubbling under the hood?

Yeah three separate areas, and curling up in the leading edge of the hood. Seems like a lot of ''iron residue'' was left behind..........Gonna see the dealer today. It's a dodge dealer, but they have gotten all my bussiness since I moved too the area,

So i went too the dealwer, and the ford dealer, Came up with nothing.................big surprise!
Went too a custom guy I know, He can do the hood, (fiberglass) for 300.00$, my bumper and existing hood, 600.00$ Good prices, imo. So it aint broken and it's not rotting, I can hold off a bit and see what comes down the pike, ie. swap meets, good deals, ebay...............
Now I'm waiting for mega -million to come thru!, lol.

Thats what swap meets are for. i have no problem with gettin another hood. Just that i have too in the first place, seems American quality has turned too ****.....really, look around, if it isn't needing repair or done right in the first ****ing place ,chances are it isn't American! You can sport patriotism and fighting the terrorists all you want, But when it comes too manufacturing..............please. From what i seen 1 out of three makes the grade, tops............and thats a generous point of veiw!

Yeah getting a fiberglass hood or another aftermarket alumninum hood is your best bet if you can't get it fixed under warranty. I think it was around $600-700 for Ford to fix mine. I wished they would have just given me the cash and I would have bought a Ram-air hood!

Yep, got to play the Mega Lottery it's like $356 Million!
