And the stang will be completely painted, windows removed and everything and will be painted jet black which is a darker black than stock black. My question is does anyone think paying 9 grand for a complete paint restore is fair.
If that includes the cost of the body parts, yeah, it sounds about right. Labor rates are through the roof.

But I had an old challenger with an awesome paint job, you could shave in the reflection. Maybe thats why I got so many speeding tickets in that car.
Why is it crazy? I had show-quality paint job put on my Harley Softail, and it cost me $3.5k, and I even took the sheet metal off the bike a took it to the shop, and put it back on the bike when it was done. That was 17 years ago.

$10k for a show-quality paint job on a car? That's about right. Black is hard to get right. The OP has every right to expect and demand perfection.

If I put 9k into a paint job, i'd Clear Bra the whole front end to keep from wanting to die in JZ's stone chip scenario.. You can probably get the entire front end and about 8 inches of the hood plus mirrors done for 400-600 more. It's an insurance policy that's worth it on a 9k investment-- IMHO.

You also have to let your Insurance know that you have a show finish on your car and not the orange peely deal from the factory.
Keep your invoices.

Thanks guys for the nice comments total payment will be 8400.00 I thought it was a high figure too in the beginning but after checking on the process of my car over the last months its been in the shop I am starting to believe its going to be money well spend and I see a lot of hard work and care and no rushed work to just get it out of there shop.

Good call on the clear bra! Definitely want to protect the new paint job.

I know I want to see pics at the end... A show quality paint job is in store for my SGT once it is no longer a daily driver and becomes a garage/trailer queen.

A clear bra over quality paint looks like crappy paint. I prefer a Colgan Bra for trips.

The Victoria Secrets one are my favorite bras but can't find the correct size for my car.

I agree with you Sonic... Anything over an expensive finish is kinda defeating the purpose of said finish.

I was referring to the clear bra that is professionally installed like a film. I've seen several Mustang "show cars" (up close) that have the clear bra and it is barely noticeable. It definitely protects against debri and other items on the road. I think it would be a good investment on a $9K paint job.
