Roush Front Bumper or not?
#11
Pascal, other professional painters....
Just want to pick your brain on painting my bumper. Roush instructions tell me to use : Dupont 2319 Plastic Prep on the raw bumper to get rid of release agents. then Use Dupont 2330S (adhesion Promoter) Do you have any other tricks etc to make sure the paint will stick. Like what kind of primer do you use after this or just shoot the base over the 2230S? I was planning on using 400 grit to scuff the bumper before I start but should I do this before or after the plastic prep? Any an all advise is appreciated. I have painted a lot but never a brand new bumper so I am being cautious.
Thanks
Sam

I can't offer you advise but you're right in being careful. The first shop I took my bumper to paint at didn't prep it correctly and within a few days the paint was literally flaking off the bumper.

DO IT RIGHT! The shop that painted mine used the proper sealer.
Also, regarding the lights, it was pretty easy to 'fix' the missing stock v6 wiring to use a stock GT light switch to control the fog lights; but of course a separate switch will do, too.
Did you get the chin spoiler, too?
(oh, yeah; my sig shows a roush on what-used-to-be v6; the grill is a billet painted black GT grill.

Oooh, nice! I'm going to have to get both of mine repainted again. A minivan decided to brake using my rear bumper and the front one is peeling again. I might just paint the whole car though, it's turning pink. Sun here is unforgiving.

Well I started the install yesterday. Got the old one off, got the wiring for the Roush Fogs in place, but not much else. I did a bit of poor planning and I did not order the GT/V6 bumper conversion parts:
Front Bumper Cover:
Part Number : Qty : Description: Price
5R3Z-17626-BA : 1 : DEFLECTOR - STONE : $22.76
5R3Z-16102-BA : 1 : GUARD - FRONT SPLASH : $11.82
5R3Z-16103-BA : 1 : GUARD - FRONT SPLASH : $7.13
5R3Z-17C947-BA : 1 : FOAM BUMPER ISOLATOR : $7.00
N801169S900 : 1 : PACK OF EIGHT SCREWS : $4.00
W705992S441 : 1 : PACK OF FOUR INSERTS : $4.00
Note these are old prices from MF sticky. It cost me over 150.00 for these same parts and I have a parts manager as a friend that gave me a discount too. I also didn't order bulbs for the clear turn signals that I had so those are coming also. Hopefully I will have more progress photos next weekend. I also am waiting on tires for the new offset wheels that I ordered. It will be a transformation of this one.

I am planning on doing the Roush front bumper on my car. I currently have a GT front bumper on my car with the CDC aggressive chin spoiler. I wanna do the roush front with a trufiber carbon fiber cowl hood.

Your car already looks great. I had that same setup until a small accident broke the chin spoiler in half and cracked the bumper. I honestly miss that look but at the time it was much more money o buy a new original bumper and cut it open to add the aggressive again, so I went with the Street Scene Gen 2.
