Fix-up time! What's this part on my door called?
Hey all!
Doing some much-needed work on my 2008 at the moment. Alas, one part got eaten by rust... and I'm flummoxed as to how. I don't quite know what it's called, but I've attached a picture here. Can anybody school me?
Thanks!

You may like it better without one. Unless the paint is a different shade under the molding strip.
I am not sure what company sells those painted, other than the dealership.

I agree that the door strip molding would be better deleted, however you may see a "ghost stripe" left behind if you pull it completely off. From what I know, many Mustangs that the rental agencies purchased got those. If your car was fairly new, it was an easy fix to take it off with no ghost stripe. But now that it has been on your car for years, you may just try cleaning the molding or paint it.

Most of those door guards were on the fleet cars -- those sold to the rental companies (Hertz, Avis, etc). Not something seen very often on cars sold to the public by a dealer, and they weren't an option to add when you ordered a car (so a dealer installed option if it wasn't a rental).
