I have the Shaker 500 in my '07 with the aux input in the center console. My g/f's '06 has the Shaker w/o the aux input. She's happy with her Shaker but would like an aux input for her iPod. I picked up a used Shaker 500 from an '07 and expected there to be a simple aux jack on the back of the unit so all I'd have to do was run an extension to some convenient location. WRONG!
The unit was made in 6/14/07. I haven't yanked mine out yet to see how the aux input is configured and I'm guessing that one of the wiring harness' on an '07 includes the wiring for the input jack. Anyone know what I need to install this '07 Shaker in the g/f's '06 so I can wire up the aux input? The pics are from the '07 Shaker.

the 2007+ Ford cars have 1 extra wire in the radio wire loom
it's a blank pin on the 05-06 car pigtail
you will need to buy a aux plug and mount it into the center console like your 2007 has. then run the wire into the dash and replace the blank pin in her 2006 wiring harness. then use that 2007+ Shaker radio. fairly easy job.
might be able to use her original radio...but I doubt it.
when I get a chance, I'll pull up the wiring schematic for a 2006 and a 2007 so you can see what I mean.

Excellent. That's what I was hoping; pins on the existing plugs. But I'd assume there's 3 wires to mate up to my supplied 1/8" stereo plug; left, right, common. Hopefully the wiring diagram will clear that up.
Edit: OK, looks like pins 6, 7, 8 and 14 on connector C290A for the aux input. Hopefully that'll be the same for the 2007 as it is for the 2009.
