You aren't going to get a Saleen with 500 hp for 40k. No way.

Why not just get a GT and slap a Saleen S/C on it with the upgrades and you will be around 450-475 RWHP.

You're not gonna find a factory produced or serialized mustang with 500hp brand new for 40K. All these cars you've mentioned are around 50K and up. Your best bet would be to go with a GT and drop a s/c or turbo in it to get your 500hp fix. Either that, or loosen up the purse strings. Don't know what else to tell ya.

gt500 it is much better to start from a 5.4L iron block than from a 4.6 aluminium block

Just wait for the prices on the GT500 to come down.....will be worth more(in the long run) than a Stage 3 Roush, or Saleen S/C(note I didn't say Saleen 281E....although at $70K + they'll lose value as fast as buying a GT500 right now for the same price). I'm gonna wait 'til the prices come back to reality...if it takes 2-3 years that's fine....I still have my GT
