Is there an issue with the ABS on our GT's, when staggering tires? Is the Cobra's ABS and suspension different from our GT's? The shops here are also saying there might be an issue with the traction contorl system as well. I am not an expert on these newer Mustangs, but I have never had any problems in the past staggering tires on my cars. Any help that you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
This is what I am hoping will work out for me:
275/40/17 ZR for the rear, and 255/45/17 ZR on the front.
Currently I am running Stock: 235/55/17 ZR on the rear and 255/55/17 ZR on the front.

Wow, I just spent about an hour catching up on over a month of this thread. I just wanted to add my thanks to Wolfey, bascho, northy, jay (sad to see you go...), and everyone else that has troubleshooted, theorized, replaced countless front-end parts at their expense, prototyped THEIR OWN parts, called and/or wrote letters to Ford, and anything else that helped progress this issue into a working solution.

Ironically enough, I'm going to get my car replaced shortly, not because of this issue, but due to the infamous water leak, so I am not going to bother getting these parts installed at the moment, but you better believe it will be the first thing I do to the new one if it's not an '08 and it has this same problem. It's nice to know that people are finding the solution to be a working one.

P.S. Has anyone clicked on the "Printable Version" in this thread? I am scared to do so

Have not been on for a while and had put the noise out of my mind. Service department at North Coast Lincoln Mercury called and asked if they could have the car Monday night. They said they have the new parts in and have a loaner care for me.I guess all the bitching worked!!!!

Just got it back from the dealer and NO chuckle/thunk/clack as of yet. Almost seems strange without the sound. I'll drive it a bit more and give a second report. So far so good.

Good to hear. I still find myself listening for a thunk, but it's just not there. I'll get used to it being
quiet (sooner or later) and just startenjoying the ride.

I'm really glad that everyone that has had the new mount installed has been happy with the quality of the repair. I really feel for you guys that are still finding resistance at your local dealer.......all I canadvise is to shop around.
