Nope. Wouldn't have even considered it. Ford hit a homerun with the whole Mustang package - looks, power, value for the money. That is the only reason.

+20 here!.. I owned a few of the 67-70 stangs and really loved the fastback style, but really didn't take to the 71-73s.. Then they totally went down hill in 74, so in my opinion they didn't have another one worth buying till 05

Same here. I had a 67 coupe many years ago and there just hasn't been another since 72 that I thought was worth buying. The fox body cars were good if you wanted a track car but too much like an Escort on steroids for my taste. Ford finally got it right, it just took 35yrs!

Absolutely not. I have owned 3 F-bodies since '94, and never cared for the Mustang. Of course I didn't admit it at first, but the '05 redesign really grew on me fast. Alot of die hard F-body lovers/Mustang haters that I know admit they really like the '05+ Mustangs too. Hmmm, hell musta froze over!

Yes, other then the feminine 97 year type Mustangs…

The 2000 – 2004 looked awesome and they followed with an even better looking Mustang with 2005 to present, but I would have never owned them feminine looking 97 year Mustangs. Even the Cobra 97 year type Mustangs just looked feminine, like a girly man car…

No way, I seen this car in October 2004 sitting on a dealer lot and fell in love with it right there. I had to have one.
I have only had Mopar and Chevys so this is my first ford, and I love it.

Not a chance, I never liked anything past a 73, my first was a 68 and I would not have purchased a Mustang if they didn't change to the new body style.

I'm going to be honest here, I never in a million years would have ever considered a Ford if the new Mustang DID NOT have the retro look. Every car I've had before this Mustang was foreign. I also think that every Mustang besides the 05 - 07 and the old school ones in the 60's and early 70's are hideous (my opinion of course and I know opinions are like ******** - everyone has one and they all stink).

Iwas actuallyconsidering the 350Z or G35 and then my tenant handed me a 5.0 magazine that he didn't want because it was sent to himthrough some promotion crap. I saw the Mustang in there and I totally fell in love with it....along with the fact that I did NOT see any around my neighborhood (this was the year 2006 mind you), so I felt it would be perfect to be different. Man I made the right choice. Just wondering if anyone else was or is in the same boat as me?
I agree with you 100%. I have had all foreign cars up until this.

NO!! I would have brought a new Fusion, until I saw the new Mustang. The Charger is not retro, the GTO looks(and is foreign),the new Camaro just doesnt look right, that doofus front end and the new Challenger, well maybe if it stays close to what we have seen. Ford hit a Grand Slam with this Mustang, just like 1964! I think the new Mustang is a future collectable and according to SEMA the new Mustang is one of the top modded cars in America.

I would have still bought it even if it did not have the retro look... although I love the looks. This is my fourth car, and fourth Mustang. My first was a '66 (which I still have), then a '98, '01, now the '05. Like ponyskunk06, this car came out while I was in Iraq, and when I came home on leave I went down to the dealer to order it so it would be here when I came home. I did have to wait an extra month after I got home, but it was well worth it.

I am a GM guy, but the sexy Mustang seduced me, teased me, I had to have her the moment I saw her. It was love at first sight. I'm still in love with her.
