The X50 can easily be hardwired to, you don't need to buy any kit. All you need is a telephone wire which for all intents and purposes is free. I made a thread a little while back with pics when I hardwired mine. Real simple and works great.

The Passport and V1 are equal in quality and performance, but the directional arrows on the V1 make it the best thing on the market in the price range. Many will argue against this statement, but once you have one you will instantly be a believer in the arrows, trust me.

Passport... V1.... X50... need more of the whole name to research these, or a link. Anybody?

http://www.valentine1.com/ - valentine 1
ttp://www.escortradar.com/8500.html - Passport 8500 x50

Both of these are good. I have an escort and it works great. Valentine 1's arrows are nice though so i wold get one of those if I was buying today.

Before you buy anything, go to Escort's web sight and check out their BRAND NEW offering, the 9500i.I have bought their detectors for years and I love my 8500 x50. BUT, trust me, this new 9500i is trick! Somehow, I see one of these in my future.

Just follow valentine1's advice, both have a 30 day return free trial with no charges no nothing. Ill bet you 3,000 that if you get any radar they are recommending and the valentine1 the one you will keep is the valentine1.

Has anyone tried the new escort?? I'm curious how well it works. Has some interesting features, a bit worried about the lock out though. Would hate to miss a cop that happened to be in the same area with the same type of radar.
