I ordered the bright red piping for my black (dark charcoal) interior. I think it will make a classy contrast on my door panels.

Hey it looks great. I did the same to my doors a while back. I thought it looked ok and everyone that has seen them said they look great. Just don't want to go overboard and have itbeoverwhelming to the rest of the interior

I got the metallic blue from AutoTrim.com for my car. Goes well with the blue/black theme. The only thing was that some of it wouldn't go all the way in for me, so I will have to trim the spine a little bit in a few spots to get a better fit. Did you notice any bubbling at all? (parts that were harder than others to get it in)

Yea, some places in my door allowed the spine to go in deeper than others. When I get a few extra minutes, I'll probably trim the spine back in some places to even it out a bit. Even without that though, it still looks really good.

And I think some of the colors for contrast look really cool (like the red, and yellow and blue) but it just wouldn't have worked on my car since it's all black and silver.

Alright, sorry for the delay but here is the best closeup picture I could get of the welt. You can see how it looks braided. I think it's the sparkly braided quality that makes it match the silver from the IUP parts more than anything.





I really like the look but once you step more than a foot back, you can't tell it's braided anymore. It just ends up looking like this:

I went to my local upholstery shop and they sold me 20 feet for 10.00 cdn, he wanted 20 untill I told him that I can order it for 50cents yard. He did not have the tinsel but i got the satin silver welt to match the outside, it is a 90% match!, I will have to trim a little of the back so not to stick out so much. Wat a great idea! it looks great. I think I might also do the sunvisors as well.
