how far is El Paso from Houston?
750 miles. It's about a 10 hour drive on I-10, depending on how heavy your foot is, of course. I-10 near El Paso does have an 80 MPH speed limit (but 70 other places), and 10 over in Texas is no problem. So you could make it in 9 hours or less.

Texas is a pretty big place. East to west across the entire state is about 800 miles, and north to south, it's about 900 miles. Dallas to Chicago is only about 100 miles further than from Brownsville to the top of the panhandle.

Just outside of Houston here, I'd be there in an instant if it was somewhere around here though.

San Antonio is located about right for most Texans any way, lots of things here to check out and we have a beautiful Drag strip here San Antonio Raceway. http://www.sanantonioraceway.com/

Just a guess, but I would be willing to check into maybe setting up a State of Texas Open Mustang Challange out there, or some sort of thing. Givin the time to allow for everyone to make this happan as far as work. etc goes, we could have one hell of a collection of Stangs!

No exclusions for year, or modifications, or anything. You just have to DRIVE the car to the event, no trailer queens, no excuses. San Antonio Raceway is right along side I-10 about 20 miles east of San Antonio.

For my self, I want to see who in Texas has "got it to go"

Several years ago, I was in a cruise put together by another mustang board (national event)...we cruised from the hooters on 45/nasa road 1 to Crystal Beach (Galveston then across the ferry). It was pretty cool seeing a ferry completely full of mustangs. Then we all met up on the other side and drove to a spot on the beach were we could line up. It was quite a site.

It was a full weekend event...road racing Friday, beach on Saturday, then HRP on Sunday.

Sounds kickass!!! Count me in!! I'm in San Antonio with my supercharged 05.

Edit: LOL, imagine how much money the gas stations we stop at would get.

I could do SA as well. I already know someone there I could probably stay with. I've never been to that track.

Yeah, that's my only concern. I know how great HRP is on a normal day so I have high expectations.
