Default Front License Plate Holder

I see this for sale on the Saleen website, but I don't have an actual picture of the item.

I'm looking for something like the Shelbys have on the front of there bumpers; that black plastic frame.

Thanks!

Maryland is a front plate state. But I have noticed that the cops tend to look the other way when it comes to Corvettes and front plates. In fact the C6 doesn't even have a place for a front tag. I've seen a few that have the tag mounted practically uner the front end. Several Vette owners tell me that the unwritten rule is to carry the front tag with you in the car. If you get pulled over ,show the cop the tag and they allow you to slide. I'm not sure if this is factual or urban legend, however, I have been paying attention and not many Corvettes display front tags. I personally don't find the special treatment for Vette drivers particularly appealing.

Well! I'm a Vette owner also and don't get any special treatment. If anything, I get pulled over more than the average Joe! LOL.

Not a license plate frame, but an actual piece that attaches to the bumper and holds the license plate.

I've been searching for a bracket myself that only uses the top two screws. This is the closest thing I have found but I am still looking:

I found one at pepboys I think it was, or Kragen. It has holes for 4 screws, but I only used 2 top ones and it works fine. It is a black piece that looks similar to what Margarita Girl posted.

I have posted another one once in a thread. It is a retracable plate holder. If I had seen this I probably would have got it, but not now as I have holes ine the front facia. Plus now I have the CDC aggressive chin spoiler so this would work. But here is the link anyways

My g/f was pulled over in bumper to bumper traffic on 495 for not having a front plate. She had no idea what she was being pulled over for because she was going 5mph. Granted, it wasn't a Corvette but still.

I bought a very nice bracket from www.ccmustangbrackets.com. No drilling and mine came powder coated black. Very nice piece.

I have a ford bracket that I think comes on the gt/cs.

part # 7r3z17a385ca for the bracket
part # 5r3z17a385ca for the bolts

If you search "gt/cs plate bracket" on the other big forum you'll find a thread on it.

Thanks, Jay! Did you pick yours up from the dealership? If so, did they have them in stock or did they have to order it for you?

Check out Moss motor website... They have a relocation bracket that puts the plate off to the side down around the lower bumper grill passenger side. I'm in Mo. and have to do front plate. I bought this bracket, looks good kinda a pain the install, easier if you can use a lift.

I'm going to be adding a chin spoiler, so that moss one wouldn't work. Besides, the black plastic one is a much more cleaner canidate, IMO.
