ok, we may have a winner give that man a ceeeegarrrrr

TSB 06-4-1

ORIGINAL: ohnoesaz

I have a tinny-clang-clang sound at WOT. Very noticeable. Definately seem to be exhaust banging on something. Possibly tranny clanging against something. Who knows. Ill take it.

It's definitely not the TSB exhaust isolator thing because I had that before I installed my GTA exhaust, so I know what that sounds like. Plus, that's at low rpms, this is at high rpm (WOT). I've also read the TSB on ticking noises/lash adjusters/VCT/fuel injectors, and none of that really applies. I can hear the fuel injectors also - it's not that kind of sound, and it's not from the top of the engine. VCT sound only occurs at idle if I'm not mistaken. Lash adjuster would occur regardless if in drive or just revving in nuetral, and would be present at more than just WOT.

Exhaust leak sounds feasible, and seems to describe what I hear. It also may explain why I'm having trouble with error codes and pinging with my newly installed tune/CAI. Interesting thing though - this am, I didn't get the same type of ticking. More of a rattle from just in front and below the shifter area, only at WOT ( to the floor) I have had an occasional rattling from that are at idle in 1st gear with the brake on. Anyone else have this? Again, this is NOT the TSB rattle - that one rattles the whole console. This one sounds like a a loose nut on a bolt would sound.

I'm gonna get under the car this weekend and check for any loose nuts/connectors/etc.

It's a loose nut behind the steering wheel or it the sound of money being placed into the coffers of the city you'll be pulled over in and ticketed.
