Yeah - the clutch shield. My car didn't come with the 2 bolts, and they alone solved the rattle at start up, but not the 3000-3200RPM rattle under load (not in neutral, revving). The washer combo got rid of all of it!

Not difficult at all - use a 3/8" drive ratchet and a standard depth 17mm socket. Sorry I don't have any pics that aren't so zoomed.

i have heard that u can add some washers i believe. if not i would take it to a local shop to get it checked

10mm x 1.5mm thread, 3/4" long - got 'em at Lowes

Any specific torque specs for those bolts? I've got the same problem and looks like I'll have to try that spacer trick. Glad someone's found a decent fix along the way, this issue's been driving me crazy!

i get the rattle when ever im at a light after ive drivin for a while and it goes away when i put it in neutral (auto) v8 - and also when im going in reverse!

is this the same issue everyone else has? or mufflers -
