I just bought a used 07 vert to replace an 8 year old Saab convertible, which replaced a 95 Mustang Convertible. The Mustang 07 can hold its own with most of the current stuff in terms of wind noise, rattles etc. The car is still quite solid. Wind noise is quite low, though engine noise is higher than most of the imports. To me, it was unbeatable combination of bang for the buck, great trunk (for a convertible), decent performance, etc. It also simply looks good.

By the way, I got it with an upgrade to brand new Pirellis and GT 17" wheels for a bit over 20K. 8K miles, ford exec driven, right options....

I had a 90 GT vert and a 97 Cobra vert before buying my 05 GT vert. The 2005is tons better than the previous models. It is tight.Little road noise with top up. Sometimes I forget the top goes down. It feels very much like a coupe.
Hope this helps

I absolutely love my convertible. I have yet to have it leak and it isnt too noisy for a convertible. My dads old 93 was much louder. It is quiet with the stock exhaust and the top up. I could barely hear it. i like to hear the exhaust. Just means it is time to get a new one soon. I have no problems with rattles or anything at all either. Very pleased and i think you will be too.

I've got a 2008 convertible. No squeeks or rattles and much quieter than i thought it would be. I was also looking at the BMW which would likely hold its value better but I'm real pleased with my choice.

I assume you sold the Corsa's with the car, and if not, definitely send me a PM.

The only con is that it is not spring year round.....I always had my reservations about verts, but I was hooked when I bought my first one. I am on my third, and I will never own a hardtop again. That is what my wife's SUV is for.

The verts you mentioned are all luxury vehicles costing much more then the mustang. I had a Volvo C70 before the Mustang and I have owned audis, and BMWs before that. Although I love my Mustang, there are a lot of standard features on the luxury cars that I miss dearly on the mustang. (full power seats, including passsenger seat, seat memory, glove compartment lights, trunk release button, heated seats, power tonneu cover, headlight washers, compass, auto dimming lights, DLR, etc....)

If you are sure you are not going to miss these, then the Mustang is an awesome car. It is more powerful, more fun to drive, and everywhere you go you will be the center of attention. Although I do miss the luxuries, I would not want to go back. Instead, I started installing some of those luxuries in my car.

Get the stang vert and don't look back; because the mod bug is gonna catch ya. Seriously, my '07 GT vert has 36k on it, nice ride, quiet, awesome fuel mileage, and is driven on the highway alot (put 913 miles on it one day).

I recently bought an 08 GT vert and I love it. No leaks, and less noise than I expected. I like listening the engine though. I do have some ratteling at the pasenger door latch when I go over bumps.

However, it only takes one complement from someone in a parking lot (and you'll get them every day) to make you not care about noise.

Quick update. The rear quarter rattle I mentioned earlier is, in fact, not related to the convertible top. It was the trunk floor, not sitting flush against the metal surrounding the spare tire. Every time I'd hit a bump, the floor would bounce and hit the metal hard. I put in some foam tape, and repositioned the trunk floor. Problem solved, and the convertible top remains problem-free.
