Extended Warranty?

Extended Warranty?
Hey brosephs,
My 3 year/36,000 mile warrantywill be up in about 50 miles, which got me thinking about extending the warranty. Can anyone offer any advice about this?
Can I just waltz into my local dealership for thiswithout getting mauled by salesmen? Anything I should worry about? I'm in the mindset that they're gonna try to penny pinch me on this as they would for anything else. [:@]
Appreciated!

IMHO... Warranties are for people that like to bet their cars will fall apart. And from what I've heard, the warranty costs more than most repairs people incur.

RE: Extended Warranty?
Troy ford is running a special. They are offering 11 months no interest or a $250 rebate. The prices seem reasonable. I average about 4K miles/yr.
I got a quote to extend my bumper to bumper warranty to 7/36 for $880.
HERE IS THE BROCHURE:

Check out their prices and then talk to your dealer to see if he can meet or beet it:

RE: Extended Warranty?
I was talked into getting the Extended Warranty.......$1620
In retrospect, that money could have gone towards something a little more tangible. But some will say Better to have it, and not need it, than to need it, and not have it.

RE: Extended Warranty?
You don't have to go back to the dealership to get an extended warranty. As with anything else, they'll charge a markup on it.
Google "extended warranty" and you'll find some pretty good third party extended warranty shops. Chances are, the dealership is merely sending you that way and collecting some money.
That being said, if you're planning on modding your mustang, what good is a warranty anyhow?
