its not really a myth......doug has posted a graph showing the same thing pretty much
I'm sure most tuners are sensible to know this. But it seems like every time I turn around on here, someone is preaching about how CMCVs will kill your gas mileage or you'll lose torque. LOL
It seems that some tuners don't even try to tune the CMCD's and instead accept a torque loss

I noticed a small drop in mileage, but I'm not sure if it was from the delete plates or the new tune.

Its from the injection of lead into your foot (metaphorical lead)

I'll be posting a thread about these misleading "myths" about CMCVs here shortly. Justin at VMP Tuning and I did before and afters on my car with the CMCVs. I gained power and torque all the way threw the curve more noticeably at the top of the RPMs, of course. I also haven't lost any gas mileage. I gained 12 rwhp from the addition of UDPs and CMCVs.

8URGTO: Yes you need to get a tune to compensate for the removal of the butterflies and/or the motor.
chances are you are getting good air then with low humidity, which is rare in USA, or you put in a good tune....cm plates work

Here is the info i got

Doug

Finally, the results I've gotten from them were 6rwhp and nearly 10 rwtq overall but in the mid range gains of 7-9 rwhp and 8-10 rwtq from 3000 rpm's and up. At the time for $85 they were a very worthwhile investment, now I think you can get them for around $150 still ?

I drove it and it is truly hard to say if I could feel any difference at all, I could say that It didn't loose any bottom end power to speak of which was what I was expecting.

Now remember, Doug doesnt sell these plates so its not like he is pushing a product here

That graph from Doug probably single handedly convinced me to get some.
