I was told at an auto show recently $250,000. Not sure how true that is but seeing the markup on the GT500 when it was released and even now still....I could see it.

Sweet car but the markup on these things are insane.
The first one sold for $250k only the first one. Both KR clones used in the knighroder series sold for $250k soon after (not each but both).

The shelby super snake which has 40% more HP, and looks better whilemaintaining all the original details is 57k, i think that's worth it.

the first version sold for $550K, not $250K

First, you'll need a Shelby GT 500, the base price of which is $40,930 according to Ford. Now, you're probably going to want to option that up, and we're betting no dealer will let you out the door without paying a significant mark up. On top of that, turning your GT500 into a Super Snake will cost at least an additional $28,000.

quoted from http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/05/shelby-releases-super-snake-gt500-details/

notice the "atleast"...that is for the 600hp version...i am pretty sure it will cost up to $10K more for the 725hp version...

$41K + $28K + conservative $5000 = $74K
throw in some gas guzzler tax, TTL, and you are now OVER $80K...

throw in dealer markup on the GT500 and a more realistic $10K over base Supersnake upgrade to get that 725HP and you are more than likely around $90K

[sm=laughat.gif]...way to not know what you are talking about

Thanks for the link. Damn those are expensive though... and that's without tires!

The only thing is if you go to Ford's website and click on the GT500KR (someone posted the link above) it has this description about the wheels:

Shelby-designed GT500KR 18-inch wheels

But the ones you linked were 20's. Is Ford's website just a misprint and the KR actually has 20's?

Yea because $80k is pocket change for a car that's a fat pig, has **** suspension and does nothing other than go straight fast and look "pretty".

People need to get off Ford's dick and especially Shelby's, for his recent check cash in's.

[sm=laughat.gif]...way to judge a car by HP number.

OH and P.S. When you mass produce a vehicle, it generally costs the manufactor less to make it than what they sell it for.

wasnt judging anything by HP numbers...i was simply stating how it was indeed an $80K car

i agree that it doesnt have the suspension of an exotic but you name me one other car that has a factory option to be in excess of 700hp and still be priced under $100K

True, nothing pops into mind but many can outperform it with less horsepower and less of a price, so why does it matter?

It is not even CLOSE to being worth $80K, it is Mustang.
You are saying that car is worth $50K more then a GT, that is a complete joke?
It is the same car as a GT, it just has some nicer cosmetics, a little bit better suspension, and a built to the hilt 5.4L.
It is worth maybe $20K more then a GT, no way $50Kor the insane amount the stupid people will be dropping for one.

like i said earlier, i dont think it is worth $80K either, hell, i dont think a saleen extreme is worth the money either. like i said, it is priced with its collector's value for the future in mind.

Do you think that people thought it was worth the +/- $5000 to get a GT500 in '67 when you could purchase a regular 289 for close to half that price??? Probably not, but now I bet they are kicking themselves in the *** when they see them sell for $100K all day long
