Motive is the only mfg to make 3.90s. Motive Gears are horrible, they whine and often have poor construction. Therefore my vote goes for the 4.10s. I know I'm late but it should just make your decision that much better.

I'm kinda with Blustar on the 3.73's. I have 4.56's in my truck and can roll OVER people on the highway at 70-80 mph but I'm really roaring . It's fun, but if I had to do a LOT of highway driving it would get annoying.

You also have to consider wheel diameter. When I put 20' wheels on the truck with the 3.08's (or whatever wimpy gears it had) it would bog big time w/auto trans. After the 4.56 upgrade it bites through all gears.

Soooo, if you're sticking with 17-18' wheels I would suggest 3.73's. With 20' wheels like I have now with 3.55's I'm dreaming of 4.10's .

Oh yeah, another note. My 4.56 gears in the truck, which are Richmond Pro Gearswith a Richmond Powertrax unit don't whine AT ALL.

Pro 5.0 also makes 3.90 gears.

On my highway commute in semi-thick traffic I didn't lose any mpg because now I get into 5th at 60-65 mph. Before I didn't like getting into 5th until 70+. When I'm cruisingaround town or dealing with slow highway traffic I just get into 3rd and leave it there; before I was shifting more between 2nd to 3rd. Overall on a full tank of gas I went down -1 mpg which is nothing compared to the performance gain from the 3.55s.

As for when you need/want to kick it up a notch...I can be cruising in 5th at 70, drop into 4th and be at 100+ in a heartbeat

I got 300 miles to a tank with 4.10s doing 70mph on the highway.
as far as roll racing they will help. I raced a srt-4 and started pulling in 4th gear. He put down 315 so his hp was about equal to mine.

I'd go 4.10's in order to get FRPP's
