Default Does anybody buy octane booster?

I know Ford says regular 87 octane is recommended but I notice my car runs better/smoother with higher octane in it. Do any of you use over the counter octane booster? If so, which one do you like?

It will foul your plugs. Don't use it.

NO... take the words octane booster out of your mustang vocabulary haha... very bad idea, as the above said, will foul the plugs quick. Just spring the extra $5 per fill up, you bought a mustang, treat it like one

VooDoo, Snake Oil............Don't use it. It doesn't work and will foul your plugs and cause buildup on your valves and pistons.

Too bad the search feature isn't working or you'd have had your answer sooner, that being:

NFW use octane booster in these engines.[/blockquote]

Unless you're tuned for it, higher octane fuel won't do a damn thing for performance. The only car that does is the 2008 Bullitt, it has an adaptive PCM that will adjust the timing when it detects higher octane fuel.

haha, so now you're listening to UK motoring shows? I thought they were all biased rubbish LMAO

Anyway, simply "adding octane" doesn't do much, you need to increase spark angles along with Octane increase to utilise it.......
