drop in a s/c, when you wanna sell it turn it back to stock and sell the parts. That way you dont worry about re-sale value, some people might be willing to pay more for s/c mustang, I know I wouldnt thought. OR wait for the new mustang, challenger is heavy like you say wont be that fast.

You dont necessarily have to rush into anything. Just because it will be paid for doesn't mean its gotta go. Keep making the payments but in a separated account for a new car fund. Use the money as a bigger down to ward a more expensive car or mods or whatever. And time will reveal more of what the future in redesigns holds.

For the most part you should buy what you want and not worry about the next model. There will always be something better and faster over the horizon. If you don't mind selling cars and buying new every few years or so, pretty much constantly, then that's OK I guess. I tend to keep my cars for a long time.

8178A your original post is exactly how I feel. I love the looks of the Challenger, but hate the weight. I also want a 6 speed bad. From my investigation seems like it will be January of 09 until you can get a manual Challenger SRT or RT. Also looking at the Mopar versions of these forums it seems as though after market products are extremely limited. I don't really want to wait for the 2010 Mustang, but it sounds like it will be on the streets by March of 09.
So? Looks like by the time we can actually buy a manual Challenger we will know Fords hand and will not have to wait long for it.

We have a car meet every Saturday AM at an Atlanta Donut Shop. One of the guys showed up this morning with his band new 09 Shelby GT 500. Ford is having some problems moving them right now so he got a great trade-in on his 07 GT and a super buy on the GT 500. What an awesome car.

I would hold on to what you have and add the s/c. No car payments, great styled car that will be around for a long time and 500hp is a good thing. Like the Fox bodies, I think you'll see the current S197's around for a long time. Just my opinion though. If I could trade up I'd go for the GT500.

Yahoo! I made the last payment early! Now what to do? In this economy I’m beginning to think it might be best to have no debt and just drive the beast until the wheels fall off. It doesn’t even have 10k miles yet!
