Nah, marriage is a give and take relationship. I got the car I wanted for a long time, no need to be greedy. :-)

Derf00, we do spend $$ on fun stuff as well. Just not in the large amounts ($600 CAI, $500 gears/install) that would normally occur in modding the GT.

We're both 28 and our baby isn't born yet but we have the kido's first two years of college paid for already (assuming $15k a year) and we like to save a lot in hopes of having our house paid off by the time we're 40.

So yeah, the means are there... but we have more important things (to us) that we usually try to account for first.
I'm right with ya! I'm 35 and the wife is turning 37. We've been together for going on 8 years. We have 3 kids (hers) The oldest is 18 and in college, youngest is 13. We bought our house 4 years ago and plan on having it paid off in about 11 more years.

Child care is probably more expensive than you plan on. My best friend of 20+ years has two kids 8 and 4 and he was paying about $1500 a month at one point for daycare for both...YEOW!

Either way do what your priorities tell you to do. It's nice to see someone else that realizes there's more to life than cars and debt.

I blame the MM&FF magazine for my first mods.
I saw that first article. Did you do the "removing the carbon trap" mod??

I remember that carbon trap being a HUGE thing and what's funny is that the Bullitt still uses it. the FRPP bullitt intake requires that carbon trap in order to be 50 state legal (mainly Cali)

I don't think it is a certain amount of posts needed to add a signature.
As far as adding a sig...you need to have the pic sized correctly and hosted on the internet somewhere (I use Picasa). Then you copy the picture link from the hosted site and log in to MF then go to your control panel. Under the signature section add

That should be it.

As far as family guys (or smarter guys than me for that matter ) keeping a sports car stock... I think the mustang GT is the primary candidate. great power even when stock, backseats, huge trunk, cheap insurance, 5 star crash rating. there were no competitors back in late 06' when I purchased my car. maybe some used GTO's or vette's... I've never regretted my decision to purchase the S197.

Can't say I have ever owned a stock Mustang for more than a week. The mod bug gets me every time. The unfortanate part is once it starts it never stops.

Zero mods unless you count the mustang valve stem covers. If it were up to me, this car would be heavily modded. But alas it is my girlfriend's daily driver and she has not been bitten by the mod bug yet, dammit.
