SCCA class confusion
My eyes are literally blurry from over 300 pages of rules and I am not sure still what class to run. I want to join and start solo autocross so can someone help? Here is the list of mods on a 2005 GT:
Exhaust:Cat back exhaust with flowmasters
Intake: BBK CAI, CDC Shaker (probably no effect at low speeds)
Suspension: Eibach Pro lowering springs, Toxico D-Specs, BMR adj Panhard, BMR Panhard support bar
Brakes: Baer Eradispeed rotors drilled and slotted, stock size, Agent 47 Brake cooling kit
Tires/wheels: Nitto 555r's on 18x9 FR500 wheels
Other: Diablosport Predator Tune, Magden auto PC (displays info only), CDC hood struts, Carbon Fiber Radiator cover, Stock interior and body (fake scoops on side is all)
I think i am knocked out of the 2 lower classes by the tune and wheels alone. But what is the lowest class I can run in?

You should be E street prepared. You can do anything to the intake tract from the airbox to the heads, so you should be good there. You can run any wheel and any tire so your good there(though, you will want R comps), the exhaust is open to all mods from headers on back so you are still legal, as long as you don't screw with aftermarket control arms, you current mods are legal( you will want some more negative camber), your brakes are fine, 2009 allows for 2 piece rotors as long as they are stock sizes, all your other mods are cosmetic.

Yep, ESP. Do it for fun only, if you like it and want to get serious you'll need to remove parts and go back to F-stock. ESP cars will kick your booty, takes a lot of money to be serious in that class.

Yeah ESP.
Funny thing is... I'm also in ESP with my intake/tune. lol
Thankfully I'm still in novice class so I can still whoop some tail. The only guy that has been trading off 1st place with me has an S2000.
Next year might be a different story though.

S197 and ESP pretty good
The alternative is street tire class (STU) will get your butt kicked, since you'll be running against Evo's and STI's and (at least last year) RX-8's. There are no good "street tire" classes for Mustangs (treadwear > 140).
Don't let an unfavorable autocross class get in your way, every time you run you'll be improving your skills, independent of how competitive the car is.
