Default To buy a V6 or GT with $15K ???

Hey guys! At the beginning of the summer I want to buy a new mustang, the only problem is the amount of $$$ I have saved up for it. I don't want to go over $15,000. By looking online at sites like cars.com and eBay.com I figured that I can either get a 2007/2008 V6 with low miles or a 2005 GT with high miles. So as you see the year and mileage play a big role. I'm a much, much bigger fan of the GT because of the appearance (love the font), exhaust sound, HP and a few other things. I will only be putting about 8,000 miles on it each year so I'm not too worried about the high mileage but rather on the actual age of the car and where the different parts might be a bit old, rusty, causing problems, etc. What do you guys think?? Any advice and tips??

GT. once the new ones come out. the s197's should drop a little bit. bc they are not the newest model anymore. so by summer you could be able to find 06-07 gt's with ave miles for what you looking for. why not buy new? use a good chunk of what saved up, not all $15k, and get a brand new gt for little a month. jmo though.

Definitely don't bother with the V6... Check eBay, there are 07 GTs with under 30K miles for about $15K NOW! For example:

get the GT it's engine is more reliable from my experience and the gt is so much better in every way for what you're getting.

Id go GT all the way. New will make a difference but preowned is doable with your budget and the power will be a welcoming feeling.

there easy to find with the money you got. Good luck, remember to post back here what you get. Also, as stated, thats a dam good down payment on a new one? Where do you work also? Alot of places you wouldnt think of, have partner plans with Ford and you get a good deal.

Yeah I was looking at this mustang earlier today and it looks great! I wouldn't really mind flying out to Ohio or anywhere else to pick it up but my only concern with eBay is that I don't get to see the car in person or test drive it before actually making the purchase. Wouldn't want to buy a "lemon" and find out about it the hard way after the purchase. Have any of you dealt with buying cars from eBay??

I'm still a full-time student in college (3rd year). The good thing is that I don't have to pay for school because of scholarships and that's how I was able to save up money. As far as my job goes, I work as a real estate agent but only during summer time since I'm busy with school work. With a job like that I would be really hard getting a loan since its all 100% commission and we all know how the market and the economy are .

I'd buy my GT with 48,000 miles on for $15,000 it in a heartbeat. And, no, there's no rust on it.

There's no comparison, these are different cars. I bought mine when they first came out and were pretty rare. Test driving a GT was impossible, so I tested a V6. Almost didn't buy the car.

GT is a whole different beast...
