thanks for all the advice/options. at this point i'm leaning towards frpp/borla axlebacks only. local shop said they just put them on an 05 gt (with frpp x) and it was awesome. i'll probably pass on the x tho.

I have FRPP ceramic shorties, Magnaflow true X with high flow CATS, 3" CAT back to Magnapacks, which dump out to 3.5" tips. Looks awesome, sounds awesome!

Don't waste your time or money on headers unless you're going with long tubes. It's been proven time and again since 1996 that the OHC engines in the Mustang do not respond to them. Unless you're going with a turbo one day

My car had a significant torque increase after installation of BBK shorty headers. It was as noticeable as a tune and CAI.

Ok heres the deal. You said you dont want much hassel, it sounds like this must be your first experience with modding the exhaust on a car. I wont tell you to get headers/midpipes because it sounds like you want a simple, straight forward install. Get the Mac axlebacks. Very deep, sound great, look great, great quality, pretty inexpensive. Mac gets my vote for best sound on the new mustang. Trust me I am VERY picky when it comes to sound.....Very picky.
