Well, if this is a constant issue with our Brenspeed tunes, then why arent they addressing it?

Why would you let a competitor "Bama" tunes out do you in the 0-3000 range? Is the Bama tune crappy after 3k? if not, why the craze with Brenspeed tunes?!?

I would like Brenspeed to chime in....

tell bren u want your money back, then call chris rose at tillman speed i pr5omise u wont be disappointed. his throttle response its hard not to scratch the tires just taken off normal. trust me, i got a mail order tune from chris that outrun my dyno tune by 2 tenths and it was mostly done in the 60ft .

Neither tune is "crappy" They are better than stock for sure. Every tune is different in every car though. If you email or call brenspeed i am sure they will work and see if they can get the tune more to your liking. its only $50 for a bama tune and I am sure if you give it a shot you wont be disappointed unless you a person that is just unpleasable.

Attached is a datalogging run I did with my G-Tech Accelerometer. Back to back runs the first one is Bamachips 93 Race and the second one is Brenspeed 93 Octane tune. The torque curves are identical... I think bama makes the throttle response more twitchy so that it feels like you have more torque. I like both, but I'm currently running bama's 93 race since he updates my tunes for free

by looking at the curve, the torque seems to have hit a plateau at 2200 rpm that continues up until 3000 rpm. So that means with the tunes present in the picture, the engine only spins faster between 2200 and 3000 rpm but it is putting out the same amount of torque (power) but the Horsepower does seem to increase due to the higher RPM.

I believe this is because Horse power = torque x velocity; (a function of torque and rpm)

My question is why does this happen? Cam phasers? or back to the original question:::::CAN THIS BE CORRECTED?

Just a guess, but it's probably a combination of the charge motion plates and the variable camshaft adjustments.

correct the CMCV plates open up completely around those RPMs.

Yes your tune can be altered to provide for better output under 3k. Like I stated. Call them or get a tune from Bamachips and you will see.

Brenspeed will rewrite your tune. give them a call. A tune can always be corrected if its not to your liking.

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but it's possible that not too much can be done to beef up the low rpm performance of an 87 octane tune. I'm basing this on Doug's(Bamachips) description that there's not enough to work with in the low rpm's for 87 octane(Hence, the unavailability of an 87 Torque tune from him).
