Question Battery corrosion

I am tired of the corrosion problem on my '06 GT. I guess I could replace the battery, maybe that would cure it. Has anyone converted theirs to a side post? It looks like there is enough clearance to make it work. I for one never had a corrosion problem with a side post battery.

I HATE those side terminal batteries. It's more difficult to get jumper cables on them if you need to give or get a jump start. Also, if the terminals corrode, you often can't see it.

Corrosion is generally caused by outgassing from the battery. I don't think there's any reason why a battery with side terminals would be significantly less susceptible to this. Mostly, you just don't see it.

Assuming the only problem with your current battery is corrosion, clean the posts and terminals with baking soda or a product designed for that purpose that you can find in an auto supply store. Then coat the posts and terminals with petroleum jelly. Or buy a new battery and coat the posts and terminals with petroleum jelly.

Just my 2 cents.
