My 500 isn't bad. Since I'm usually doing a lot of highway driving with the windows closed, I only deal with inside road-generated noise. If the Stang was my DD I might consider a replacement.

Dont over think the situation! I pulled the Shaker headunit, replaced it with a Pioneer FH-P8000BT, the improvement is AWESOME! There is nothing wrong with the shaker speakers, and the Pioneer uses them to the full potential! and for around 300 bucks. I now just plug in my Ipod and I can make my ears bleed if I wish...

You'll regret playing your stereo that loud when you are older.

Yup just as i thought crappy speakers. Thanks for the pics. Im just going to upgrade with a sytem of my own. They should have not named them shaker 500. It gets people excited until they turn it up, at least thats what happened to me. Dissappointment.

I agree, the 500 is not a very good system. From what I hear the 1000 is much better. I wish I knew that before I ordered the car. I figured the 500 would be good enough but i find the system in my 2003 Blazer much better. More clear and alot more power.
