Default Final Exhaust Evaluation - Roush/Magnaflows

If you read previous post from me you remember that I installed the Roush catback system on my 2010 GT but the drone was too much for me. I had the Roush remove and the stock system put back on. Then a couple of days ago I had Magnaflow axle back mufflers installed. What follows is an unscienctific review of the Roush vs Maganflows. The videos below are the two systems at idle and from inside the car going over the same route. I also posted a drive-by video of the Magnaflows which includes a peel out. This I think is my final exhaust mod. Next I need to attack the wheel hop problem.

Car is stock except for a K&N air filter, Magnaflow mufflers and Brenspeed 93 octant tune.

Sounds pretty good. Is it me, or does the roush exhaust sound a little louder than the Magnaflows?

Also Joe, do u still get some drone at the 2k mark? If you do I imagine its not as much as before...Thanks for posting the video's!

The Magnaflows are alot quieter than the Roush but they still drone at 2000 rpm. As Maganflow tec support stated, they get louder after they break in, around 600 miles. To avoid the drone when I can I shift to 5th which brings the rpms down to around 1300. At 1300 the exhaust is louder than at curise, much better than at 2k, but it is tolerable.

Jocatch, you put a lot of time and effort in performing all of these tests for us. Probably the best comparison I have seen on any forum. IT IS MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!

Hooray for magnaflows. Those roush ones are REALLY loud. It made my speakers crackle. I get drone at 2k too. But its only a small window of range so its not bad. Overall good exhaust.

I think a better comparison would have been the Roush and the Magnapacks.
