Check out the link I provided in my post. I've purchased from that company before and everything came quickly.

Removed post. Adapter is too large.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. That should fit. But, if it doesn't, you could just plug a regular cable out of sync usb port and then plug it into that. There's plenty of space back there to hide excess wiring too.

WAIT WAIT!! That adapter's molded plug is too big!

Remember, the USB-Mini plug is recessed inside a wiring harness clip. While 'regular' USB-mini cables have a plug and molded boot on the end that could be whittled down a bit, this one flares out (to accommodate the USB-AF end) too quickly, and I'm afraid whittling that down will get you into componentry too quickly (not sure how much plastic you'd go through before you hit metal).

You may want to get a very short USB-MiniA cable with a small molded plug, to best accommodate the fit.

Sorry for being MIA recently, I've been swamped at work and doing some 12-hours days, so I haven't been posting and replying as much as I'd like to be. But I wanted to make sure I headed this off before anyone bought anything.

I just dug up this old thread about a USB port above the glove box.

If I understand correctly, you say "micro" but the picture is a "mini."

Do you think one of these would do the trick?

Perhaps this one? http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

Thanks.

I'm willing to bet it's Mini, not Micro. However, Monoprice has such great prices you could buy both. Your second link looks good. I would try to get one without the Ferrite core as there may not be enough room for it. It shouldn't be needed anyway. Let us know how it goes!

This mini cable looks good

You're also going to need one of these to attach a flash drive, etc.

Thanks. I ordered that cable a couple days ago. Had to get a slightly more expensive coupler because that cheaper one is on backorder indefinitely.

I just ordered this cable Panel Mount USB and with one of these USB to Mini and one of these USB Coupler I'll get this mounted in my glove box and it will hopefully look all nice and pretty. Then I'll just leave my thumb drive with all my music on it in the glove box and have the extra one in my center console for whatever I need.

Old thread, but just remembered about it after I found a spare HDD to put in my car.

How do I drop the glove compartment down to see where the extra USB port is?
