Default **Update**

Well.... I dropped off my car at the dealership today for the repairs. After speaking to the Service Manager and Ford they decided to fix the problem. The service manager at the dealership was very helpful in giving me some direction on how to handle Ford. I will post up some before and after pics when I get my car back, should be about a week.

Mine is out of warranty, I have 46k on my car. Ford wouldn't cover it under warranty because of that, hence why I had to make some phone calls. The entire story really is Ford is covering most of the repairs. I think my dealer is covering some, then I am paying a deductible of $100

I was looking at the estimate today, the total is over $2300! I am getting a new hood and they are almost repainting the entire front end of my car so I think anyone here would pay $100 for that amount of work.

I have the same thing on my 08. Actually on the same exact spot as the red circle shows. I will be making a trip to the dealership soon.

Well I got somewhat shafted, the bodyshop manager said I needed to call Ford myself and get "cuddle report". He would back in the day do it no questions ask but now with the tight restrition on warranty claims he's has to be sure he's gonna get paid. So I called Ford and got me a "cuddle report."

I have the same problem. Mine covers the entire area on the underside of the hood, between the liner and the lip. The paint has basically peeled and flaked off. It's also on the outside of the hood, all long the front lip. It looks terrible, is very noticeable and pisses me off. I'm going to have to replace the hood completely out of pocket.

From my phone calls, voicemails, experience etc. Ford will do NOTHING about it if you're out of warranty. They won't call back, don't care about the TSB. I have 56,XXXmi so I'm past the 5Y/50K corrosion warranty

I'm gonna get some pics later for you guys

It does suck that they screwed up just about every one's car during assembly. I still don't understand instead of paying out mega bucks for the repair, just send us ALL a check for a new hood. I'm sure many of us will be smart and NOT get an OEM hood but an aftermarket one. Even if you get a new OEM hood, it's only a matter of time before that one has an issue too.
Any thoughts as to what we could do as a group to persuade Ford to ante up?
