5.0 Coyote Transplant Looks Quite Possible

I think it will be like doing a 4.0 to a 4.6 swap.
Your gonna need motor, tranny, maybe engine mounts, ECU.
The one obstacle I forsee is the electronic steering in the new 5.0
No power steering so i dont know if the whole steering unit needs replacing or what.
I know im going to be looking into swapping once my engine blows.

I would go all the way to a 5.7 and 6 speed from a GT500 if I went through the trouble of a transplant. But a whipple or Edelbrock with conservative tune should make a blown 4.6 last a long time, I'm planning to do that instead of changing engines.

Here is the kicker on the new 5.0, it does not have conventional power steering, the 2011 uses electric power steering. Ford says that they are developing a kit but as of yet it does not exsist. We are putting the new motor in a 63 fairlane and have had to fab quite a bit just to make it fit.

JDM engineering actually has a kit for you to do this. I had talked with them a few weeks ago about it.
Your definately better off from a price point to supercharge your 4.6L. But the conversion kit is out there.

But again. You can supercharge a 4.6 and get 550ish hp for well under half the price of this conversion.
