Default Street tires to handle appx 400rwhp?

well a lot of you guys know that i have been in the process of buying a 427R for the last 2 weeks and finally got the beast home yesterday....

its too bad that they put these cars together with COOPER tires....

these tires are just so slippery and squirrely when u have some added power thats its just scary.......

the beast came with 18X10's all around so my idea is to get new tires for the rear, some nice meaty tires that have the grip i need for street use with this car, and then use the Cooper tires that i have taken off for spares for the front....

so in essence i will be running 2 Cooper tires up front, and 2 different tires in the rear....

for those of you who know tires, do you have any recommendations as far as tires and size?

thanks in advance!

I would stick with the Roush size... 275/40/18's all around.

I use Nitto NT555s on my 18X10s. They offer good grip, good price and look good too, I get compliments on the tread pattern a lot.

285/40/18 is the size

@400whp even a summer tire, especially a 275mm, is going to be hard pressed to hold traction.

A 555R might be a better choice.

I have the Nitto 555R Extreme Drags and they hook pretty nice...
I also think the BF Goodwrich G-Forch T/A Drag Radials are really nice

Goodyear has some drag radial options out now and also Nitto has the NT05R. I think I'd be tempted to take a look at one of them.

Congrats again on the new purchase again. I got the NT05's. Great tire. A bit rough but traction is great when warmed up and tread is cool. If its a daily driver, it might be a bit rough.

This might be hard to see but worth a try.
