Default 2004 GT vs 2005 GT

What are the pros and cons of each. And how do they compare?

Matafy!!! What is it YOU might want? I think you've compared every make, model, color, style, and texture of mustang. Lol.

Out of those two, I'd pick the '04, just for looks alone. I love that body style.

The '05 is going to have more power, handle better, and has a little nicer interior though.

Take both for a test ride if possible.

Hey, he's here to learn, I feel privileged to help a youngster out(as least I can try-lol). Mafaty, to be honest, I think an older GT('99-'04) would be a great platform for you to "wean" yourself to Mustang power. The New Edge Mustangs(as they're referred to by their body design) have many, many variations that you can choose from and be happy. A 3.73 or 4.10 geared CAI'd, exhaust upgraded, 5 speed '99-'04 GT can show it's tail lights to a stock '05+ GT. The only downside is finding a "clean" non-abused example for a decent price as the newest cars will be 6 years old and the older Mustang's interior seem to wear faster than the newer cars. If you can find a nice one though, it would make a great first Mustang IMO. Although the newer cars are smoother driving and have a much better platform to modify for handling super great, the New Edge isn't as far back as you'd think. The parts for it are much, much cheaper(check out any dedicated Mustang magazine and you'll get an idea of how easily you can modify the older cars and for cheap). The New Edges have to be the best used car bang for the buck out there IMO.

What specifically would you like to know? To compare every aspect would be quite time consuming.

I have an 04 gt, and my dad and brother have the 06 gt. We all started stock, and little by little went through the modding process, so i'm really familiar with both models.

Sorry. I just want to know as much as possible before I make the biggest purchase of my life so far. I don't know what I want, the only thing I know for a fact is that I want a Mustang. I'll tell you what. I'm 18 turning 19 in two weeks. I want to pay the car off in two years. I don't want a 2010-2011 as people keep suggesting. Why? Because I don't have the money. I would love new but I don't need it. I would love to get a 50th anniversary edition and I'm going to make that a goal for my future. It's bc I found an '04 GT for 10K. And the cheapest 05-06 GT I found is 18K. Are there any pics out there of 99-04 Mustangs with nodded interiors? Bc stock is really boring and plain compared to s197.

And thanks to those who have helped me. You have no idea how much u all mean to me. Since October you have dealt with all my stupid questions.

Biggest differences:
04 GT-
~3200 lbs
260hp 2V
4 link rear suspension
"a" arm front suspension

05 GT-
~3400 lbs
300hp 3V
3 link rear suspension
reverse "L" front suspension

The interiors are different but I dont know if its actually nicer in the 05 or just looks better.

I don't think you've asked any stupid questions, you've been sincere and very honest Mafaty, nice to have such a respectful young person on the forums.
