Is 23.72 mpg Good with 4.10, Etc? Thoughts Please
I haven't checked my mileage in about 18 months so with some hesitation I did yesterday. It averaged 23.72 mpg on like 300 miles. Driving was about 10% city, 90% Hwy. Factors below. Is this decent for my '06 GT?
>>> 163, 500 Miles on car
>>> Mods below
>>> 4:10 gears
>>> 70 - 75 mph hwy
All comments welcomed - I was pleasantly surprised.

Is that hand calculated? If so, then that's pretty darned good with 4.10's at 70 -75. With my 3.55's I begin to go out of my sweet spot of 1700-2000 RPM at speeds over 70 MPH.
Question is, since gas mileage is an average of many data points due to so many variables, can you continue to repeat that or is your figure skewed for 1 of many reasons? I don't flinch at a reading untill I see it being an average over at least 12 or more data points.
EDIT: OK, I just reread your mods... It's that Bullitt steering wheel.

Just trying to convey real-life experience and I have over 36 years and over 1 million miles of data logging fuel mileage to know what I'm talking about. I've driven the exact same 400 mile stretch at the same speeds using gas from the same station and have had pump-to-pump calculations vary by more than 4 MPG. FWIW, I truly DO hope that your numbers are accurate. It would be another kudos for our Stangs.

i've gotten about 22.75 mpg on 2 tanks since owning mine.. I'd expect that to climb a little as I get accustomed to driving the car without going fast... mine is a v6 by the way, so I'd say 23 is good for yours!

i made about that going 75-80 several times on my way to WV with my 4.10. at 2700ish the exhaust is loud but push it a little more to 2900-3000 rpms and the car hums perfectly and floats along right around 80

Why don't you get a prius or insight? If you aren't going to DRIVE your mustang, what's the point of having it?
The computer says I'm at 17.5 average.
