Found a paint/body defect on my new 2011 GT - UPDATE
A small under dime size dimple (maybe reverse dimple, kind of looks like it was pushed up from bottom) on the top of the drivers side fender. I also found some deep marks in the clear on the hood that I may or may not be able to remove.
It is one of those things that you can only see from the correct angle with the correct lighting. I have been totally unable to get a picture of it, but my wife was able to spot it so that shows it is not that tricky to find
I am a nut about detailing and use a PorterCable 7424XP with Adam's products to keep my ride looking nice so this really pisses me off.
I am debating on bringing it to the dealer to have them look at it but long term I am better off living with it than having it painted.
Of course it is possible that it happened in the week that I have had the car

Man that's a downer. Especially on a really new car :\.
If you ask me, I think you should at least go to the dealer and ask about it and see what they propose doing about it, if you don't like the option they give you (or if they give you no option at all) then you can just leave the dealer with nothing lost.

They may not have to do any paint work. Mostly all dealers use paintless dent removal. I've had it done a few times, and it's a great concept. But don't wait to long to go to the dealer. I'm sure you just got the car, so I would go tell them ASAP...

Rotory and random orbital polishers are your friend NOT your enemy. They only cause problems when in the wrong hands. If this is a small raised paint bubble there's really nothing your machine is going to do to fix it. You would simply abrade away the clear coat trying and be left with the same bubble but now there's no clear on it. If PDR can't fix it, the only other option is sand down smooth and repaint. Otherwise, just live with it.

I found a defect in my '08 convertible right after I bought it. Rough patch on the edge of the driver's side door. Figured I was better off doing nothing about it than taking the chance of having it ruined more by someone trying to fix it.
