Default Burnt Clutch?

So long story short, mistakenly shifted into 1st gear doing 30-40mph
Smelt something burning from inside the car.

2-5th gear are fine. But 1st gear gives a wining noise when downshifting into it. Also, if I were at a stop and in 1st gear. Previously if i let go of the clutch it would immediately stall. Now it jumps forward and refuses to stall in 1st gear.

So being an idiot what did I unintentionally break?

Oh and the vehicle is still under warranty, or am I screwed?

well the clutch isnt covered under warranty so if its fried its very unlikely they will replace without you paying.

Does the described issue sound like a clutch problem or something different?

Down shifted from 1st gear?

Were you doing a burnout?

Nope was doing like 30-40 miles an hour, put it in first gear and was breaking and slowly releasing the clutch to let the gears slow the car for a red light. The only issue is I didn't slowly release the clutch, it pretty much was dropped into 1st gear at 30 miles an hour.

It gave me an error code which the tuner read as (system too lean)

That's what you have brakes for silly. Much cheaper to replace than a clutch. Can you take off in second gear without issue?

I can take off and stop in all gear perfectly. Including 1st. The only weird issue is a wining noise
In 1st when slowing down. And the inability
To stall the car in 1st. It literally forces
Itself forward when usually it would just stall at a
Stop. The clutch itself is
Still very stiff and doesn't stick or need to dropped
To the floor. So what the heck happen to 1st gear?

Sounds like a clutch to me. Take it in and have the dealer look at it, but just be ready for a $1,000 plus bill. Sorry man.

Im not sure what to do because I was literally supposed to trade this car in today for a 5.0, deal was already finalized and everything for this morning. The car only has 6k miles and is still under the 3yr 36k mile bumper to bumper, I can really expect a 1k+ bill?

So the car wont stall and you hear a whining noise when downshifting?
Well the car not stalling is weird but I hear a sort of whine when I go to put it in first when coasting to a stop light
