Outside of the world of pre-60s cars, I think that those kind of doors really only belong on foreign cars. Not rice particularly. I am saying euro cars as well. I don't think they are ricey, just not the right style for the mustang. If you like it though, hey, thats cool.

you lose your defrost vent on the door and you have to open it wider to get in. Got to love counterintuitive mods.

Ehh to each their own. And like others said at least it's not lambo doors. Just be sure not to allow one to open while moving it would catch lots of wind .

LOL, you're entering a world of pain my friend.
You'll need a good pro to install these...

Since it involves welding, that means that it will involve painting as well, and the job is now way more than $600+.
Then you'll also have to address the issue of shaving the door handles to make things look right, again that equals to $.

As a long time custom builder myself, I can't see how the quarter panel posts will be as strong as the A pillar where your OEM hinges are bolted on...
You're talking about heavy gauge sheet metal (same as the frame rails) and big reinforcement plates behind to hold those heavy door.
On the quarter panel, you have the same thin sheet metal gauge than the rest of the outside of the car to begin with.

To overcome this and have a durable kit, that quarter panel area would have to be modofied so much that it ain't funny.
I don't care what scissor hand says about his product... I never seen any of these kits (suicide or lambos) worth a damn. They don't age well.

I strongly suggest that you read everything there is about those mods, and get revues about a couple years after install.

In any case, good luck with whatever decision you'll make.

^^^^^^so true pascal, so true^^^^^^^
The door jamb has no structural integrity where
the reverse hinges would have to be placed.
Its built in for Lambo hinges.
Factory hinge mounting points rock.
Door Lock strike plate locations do not.
I bet the wiring modifications are a pain in the **** alone.
And if not done right, its problems down the road, world of hurt...

My only question is, does the short drop
function still come into play with these types of doors?
I see the door open in the pic but the window seems to
be in the fully up position...

You better be ready for a beating if you ever want to sell her....
You get it coming and going with those doors.
I hope they dont cause you to commit suicide
before you actually get them on and working correctly.

Its funny how your pictures dont show how you addressed
the problem with the outside door handles.
Did you mount the pass side door on the drivers side and vice-versa?
Or did you shave them and go with electric door openers (yuk).

What a terrible idea. Dude, go give that money to charity....you're throwing it away. And FORGET about resale value on your car.

They do look pretty cool on that hot rod though. It's unique. Not sure about it on the mustang and it sounds like a headache install, but if it floats your boat.. enjoy!
