2012 Mustang to get SYNC AppLink
The 2012 Mustang will get SYNC AppLink, which will let you have voice control over apps stored on your smart phone:

What do you guys think? Would you guys use this feature?

Personally I wouldn't, it sounds plenty cool and all but when I'm thinking realistically, I don't see using it on a day to day basis. Hell most features of SYNC I don't even use as it is, let alone more of them lol

When it arrives, it'll be downloadable by 2010 and up stangs with SYNC. I personally use the he'll out of SYNC. I use the AUX USB portion with my 30gb iPod i leave in the center console, i use the phone portion with my iPhone, and I use weather, traffic, navigation and health report occasionally. I will definetly be using the Pandora app. I let my Sat radio subscription die out and pandora is great to use. To be able to change channels on it without looking at my iPhone will be great.

Do you have issues with the recognition with music at all? I know for me the recognition for some artists is absolutely terrible lol, when it repeats the artist it sounds so terribly wrong.

Sync ladies pronunciation is horrible, but I don't have problems with sync understanding me usually. I don't see there being many issues with voice commands for apps. I want them to integrate my email on my phone, that would be sweet. If i remember correctly, the iPhone will be fully supported in this upcoming update, so I should be getting some text to speech support now.

I would imagine Microsoft would be responsible for SYNC FW updates. Microsoft makes SYNC; Ford just puts it in the cars.
I've found through my own experiences that most people who have problems getting SYNC to understand them either a) didn't train it, b) have a thick accent of some sort (Naw mayn, j00 de wan wit de accent!), or c) don't bother enunciating. A lot of people seem to think that SYNC ought to work like the computers in Star Trek, but the fact of the matter is that Majel Barrett is not hiding behind your center console.
