Default Good sub enclosure ?

http://cgi.ebay.com/2005-up-Ford-Mus...#ht_4930wt_905

Found this enclosure ebay. Looks well made to me, but heck I don't know anything about making boxes.

Also any suggestions for subs.amp setup. I like the look of this box.

Seems these subs would be a perfect fit also. Any recommendation on amps. also its only 2ohms. Not sure the difference between 2ohms and 4ohms, more connections? haha

thanks in advance

Looks like a legit box and seller. The only thing I'd make sure you look at is which 12w3v3 woofer you're getting. The 2 and 8 ohm versions call for a 1.25 sq ft sealed enclosure which would work I that box. The 4 ohm setup calls for 1.125 sq ft. It doesn't seem like much but 1/8th sq ft can really make a difference in how well the sub performs.

I think it'll depend on what you're looking for in your system. For me 2 12" subs is way more than I'd ever need. It's probably way more sub than most people could afford to even out with their mids and highs. So you'll need more power from the amp and then you most likely will end up dropping the gain on the subs to match the other speakers. That and you're adding a lot of weight with that box. That box probably weighs 60+ lbs. Add 30 lbs for the subs and you're carrying around a lot of added weight.

Another option which is a little more but worth considering would be JL audio's stealthbox. They make one for the 2010+ mustang that comes with the 13w3. It's actually a 13.5" sub and they hit really hard.

You can google search that part. I just found it for $607.00.

As far as matching it to an amp the JL audio XD and HD amps are small and super performers.

+1 on the Stealthbox. May end up costing alittle bit more money, but hey, if you have a 2011 GT then you obviously have some play money.

I have 2 10s in my jeep wrangler right now pushing out 600watts RMS. IDK if its because its a jeep wrangler 4door and much larger or its the rocksford subs I bought, but they only hit half as hard as I want them too. So I figured 2 12s would do the job. If I go with just a single sub. there is more box options. I feel going with the stealth box I'm paying 3/400 for a box enclosure...and a decent sub. Pretty expensive box. I like the look of the stealth box. It seems I would be able to keep the access to my spare too. Don't know where I would mount my amps. Another opition down below with putting my own sub in there.

You answered part of your issue in the jeep. It's a difficult environment for any sub. Beyond that a lot also has to do with the type of sub and power you send it. I had one 10w7 in my MS3 that people would mistake for a set of 12"s but I was running 750 watts to it and it was in a ported enclosure designed specifically for that sub. I was running $1500 worth of Front/Rear speakers though with 600 watts to them. Even then I had the sub dialed back a little.

The JL Stealthbox setups I've heard are all beautiful sounding. They're matched perfectly with one another and if you run a true 600 watts of continuous pwr to that sub it's going to hammer no matter which way you slice it. It's not going to shake windows three doors down from your vehicle but that's not how JL audio designs their subs.

as long as it can shake my windows and give me a back massage at the same time I'll be happy. Not an eye massage though. That just feels weird.
