Default ? about purchasing new Mustang

Hello all,
New member here and I'm about to purchase a new Race Red convert. My question is there is one about 100 miles from me and one about 500 miles from me. Both are identical in color and options except the one 500 miles away has remote starting feature. However the dealer 500 miles away is willing to sell me the car $1,100 cheaper than the dealer 100 miles away.
So my question is is it worth going an extra 400 miles over and putting an extra 400 miles on the new car bringing it back to save $1,100. Just curious what most on here would choose to do. I'm thinking save the $1,100. Is it ok to break the car in by driving 500 miles on the interstate. I know another option would be to trailer it but I don't have a trailer and it would cost to do that and I think I would just rather drive it home. Opinions are welcome.

Assuming 20mpg you'd spend about $270 bucks in gas to drive one car out there, and then both cars back.

Get a printout of the car 500 miles away with an email from the dealer on the price. Take it to your closer dealer and ask him to beat it. If he's smart, he will. If he's not smart, or would literally lose money on the car, then go the distance and pick up your ride.

Now, before you go and buy this car and THEN come back and ask if you got a good deal, why don't you go ahead and fill us in on the details so we can warn you. Too many times we have seen someone go buy a car, come back and say "I got it for X, did I get a good deal" only to discover that they got hosed.

Ok, they both sticker for a little over $42,000 . They are race red 5.0 convert , auto, spec code 401 with the black/cashmere interior, comfort package, 19 inch painted wheels. The one 500 miles away also has the remote start. The dealer 500 miles away will sell the car for $38,200 plus $200 doc/inv fee. He also said I can then have the option of getting an additional $1500 cash back or getting 1.9% financing from Ford. I am taking the cheap financing. My credit has already been approved and everything is ready to go.
The dealer 100 miles away will sell me his car for $38,000 with no doc/inv fee BUT he says that includes the $1,500 ford rebate. I told him what the other dealer offered but he says he just can't sell his that cheap as he is a lower volume dealer. The dealer 500 miles away is in a big city.

I think the price should be better if they are 2011s since the 2012 are going into production. I think you should wait a bit. Oh and I maybe wrong but I think in the long run your better off taking the 1500 dollar.

This is your next tactic: Get to the point that you are talking to the finance guy (the salesman has already given you to him). He goes over the paperwork, and he tries to push the extended warranty and all that other BS, he then turns the paper around for you to sign .

Do Not Sign it! Pause and pretend like you are having 2nd thoughts. Then say: "Sorry, I think I will drive to the other city to buy the other car!" and get up to walk out. You will have the finance AND the salesman, maybe even the GM too running after you because they just realized they are losing a sale.

Oh, and back to the extended warranty: say"Absolutely NO" to the extended warranty. It is overpriced and it can be denied just as easily as the regular warranty if a mod you put on your car causes damage to the car.

It is wise to add that an extended warranty made by a third party (other than Ford) is an absolute NONO, no exceptions.

There has been scams from these companies going bankrupt for no reasons but they sure got your money, so when you claim a repair it's on your dime.
Ford sure ain't going to help you with that...

The car 500 miles away is definitely the way to go. It will cost you a day's time and about $250 in gas but, make a day of it and enjoy.....it's a cool new car to drive home!!

500 miles: $38,200 -1500= $36,700 + Remote start. OR 1.9% fin / $38,200 + remote start.

100 miles: $38,000 or $39,500 + 1.9% Fin....you could get a better deal.
This dealer isn't looking to make a deal. At the end of the month he may improve his offer but, why wait? the other dealer is offering incentives to buy from him. I would not further deal with this dealership.

With the CASH saved you could tint the windows & install axle back exhaust and still take the wife out to dinner afterwards. It's a win-win....everybody's happy!

Grind the local dealer to the bone. If he doesnt match the other offer, walk the f$$k out of there and buy from the other guy and save cash!! A no brainer really.

I can't believe people bargain from MSRP instead of from invoice. Those salesman are probably foaming at the mouth.

What is X-Plan pricing? Is it better than what they are offering? Anyone who is a member of MCA is eligible... I got my pin within minutes and used that to buy the Misses her 2010 Eddie Bauer Explorer 2 months ago and was still get rebates...
