2010+ auto floor shifters fit 05+
I just bought 2010 auto shifter guys, it will be arriving to my house towards the end of the week. Stay tuned to see how this goes. Also I may have a 2013 auto shifter as well to try, if the guy comes down on the price. That one will require some re wiring (and will also eliminate our lower gears) I will keep you updated on that as well.
Older post "From looking at the shifters, it looks like a 2010+ auto floor shifter would be a direct fit for 05+ models. The angle of the shifters and the width look right, and the way the cable is ran looks exactly the same, could any one possibly confirm this? I really love the new 2010 shifters im just scared of how it will look in the center console."

I didn't want to make a new thread about it, but do you guys know if there are any other types of shifter available for our autos? I mean I just plain do not like the TCI shifter, and would love something a bit nicer like the 2010+ one.
Do you guys know how exactly to remove the current shifter handle? And must you purchase the whole shifter unit, or can you just get the handle itself? Reason I ask is, my old car (toyo) just needed a handle, pops right off.
Thanks guys, appreciate it.

The handle does come off, it has a screw on the side that is facing the radio. Problem is, the overdrive button and park release button (or what ever its called) is located on the shifter handle, so finding an aftermarket replacement is going to be very hard, if possible at all. More over there are two types of gearshifters that ford used. I have one that i got from the junk yard from a GT and the way handle attaches to the rest of the gearshifter is a bit different than in my sixer, so in order to utilize the one from a junk yard i would have to replace the whole assembly, which is not hard, but what it all boils down to is that utilizing an aftermarket replacement handle will be hard without rigging something up to attach the handle itself, relocate the overdrive button (or just not use it) and rig up a park release. .

I Don't mean to be rude, but its just not my cup of tea (the TCI). I would like something with a little softer touch (leather? soft plastic?) and overall better tolerances- I mean everything feels loose (a little) on the OEM auto shifter even though the shape and retro idea are pretty cool.
No offense intended!

Have you tried asking a dealership? I would think Ford should know don't know if they'll give you a straight answer but might be worth a try to ask. Believe it or not I haven't seen the interior of a 2010 auto so don't really know what the shifter looks like
