For a tranny, get a T56 Magnum or a TKO600. A T56 mag is a 6 speed and made take 800 ft-lbf at the crank (if I remember). I cannot remember the specs for a TKO600,but it will definitely survive 600 BHP at the crank.

For a turbo, go with a set-up in which you have two turbos set-up in-line (series or compound) plumbing. And to effectively just about eliminate all turbo lag, go smaller turbos and use the serial(compound) turbo set-up on each bank. Go intercooled; turbos build alot of heat.

But don't forget: rebuild your block for sure.

Adapter plates aren't readily available for those transmissions you mentioned. I am sure they could be made though... Nice Pony over at the collective developed one for the tr3650 and tr6060. A good amount of people have done these swaps. I am actually in the middle of doing a tr3650 swap, my adapter plate will be here this week.

i thought v6's came with a 3650... either way i dont like the tko series, heard alot of bad things about sticking at high rpm's. with the stage 2 procharger comes an upgraded fuel system, after all it wouldnt survive 9 psi without it is another ive heard. any thoughts on ignition upgrades? trans will be a hard decision but ill make it based on availability and cost/effectiveness. dam u guys got me excited to get back to her lol i hate this afghan bs

The V6 has the T5, GT has the 3650. I'm running 12psi with no fuel upgrades and that is pretty much the limit... Look into a BAP, or fuel pump module wire upgrade.

I don't think that 290-300rwhp you're working with will do it .

Regardless of what he's said so far, I have my doubts about his mechanics claims of the HP. Additionally, how much of a race is about the driver? Cuz I've been doing this a while and I dont lose often to vehicles that far outclass me
