Default Tint Advice

So I have an appointment to get my 2007 Redfire Mustang tinted. I'm going with the local Llumar dealer and adding on moleskin for $50 (I know, its $30 and an easy project but I just want to get it taken care of at the same time). In CA, for the front side windows I am allowed 30% and then dark as I want on the rear windows. Would it look funny having darker in the back? Should I get even darkness all around? Do people still get tickets for too-dark tint, maybe I should just go a little darker and keep my fingers crossed?

Here's a photo of my love:

I have 5% all around and haven't had any tickets yet.
If you do 20% in the front and 5% in the back it won't look bad.

Good choice on Llumar. Most people do 30 front and 15-20 rear and rear side. I like 15-20 side and 5 rear. I do like 5 on the sides during the day, but at night its too hard to see out.

I have legal 30% front doors, illegal 20% rear window and a 5% eyebrow on the top windshied. Wanted darker doors but the ticket is $200 per window here. My rear side windows are covered already with panels. The eyebrow is key too......cuts all that glare in the car big time.

Just go for the darkest all around and drive with the windows down like me and everyone else in CA. Plus it keeps the car way cooler when parked.

I have 30% all around and I'd like to go darker. No problems with the 5-0, even when pulled over for other things. I'd say at most 20% all around

It depends on what type of person you are. If you're always going to be worried about getting pulled over, go either legal or maybe 20% all around. If you're not likely to worry then I say go with whatever looks good to you. A lot of local police tend to never carry light detectors, but the staties sometimes do.

I lived in Cali for 25 years. Yes, they will ticket you and make it a fix-it ticket to get the tinting removed if its too dark. It happened to me. CHP is the worst for this kind of stuff.

They may not pull you over for just tint but add that to say an otherwise ignorable offense like a burnt out tailight and they will. Why would want that?
