Just got my new 5.0 check out the pics!
Hey guys check out my new 2012 mustang 5.0. I just received it this Saturday. I special ordered it the week after Memorial Day so it was a decent turn around.
I got it at a base price of $30699. Thats cheaper than the X-Plan price. It was around $31000 something.
I added the following options:
Automatic Trans - traffice in Dallas is crazy
HID headlamp/Security Package
Comfort Package.
Invoice total was $34407 with stupid ADV fee, delivery, and fuel charge.
I tried talking my dealer into waving these but wouldn't budge.
My Final Invoice was $31287 (with taxes and registration) with July's $1500 rebate, 1.9% financing through my credit union, $2800 equity for my trade in. So believe I got a pretty good deal.
Naturally I was impressed with Coyote engine but the ride quality is amazing. It reminds of a 3 series so much. It's definitely smoother than my G35 sedan. My only wish is that it had about 2 or 3 more inches of rear legroom. I can drive the thing all day. I actually enjoy my 1 to 2 hour round trip commute to work.
Once you get 5.0 you think one thing. MODS!!!
1 . I got the windows tinted the same day as you can see in pics. My Saleen grill will be here on Wednesday.
2. I also ordered a K/N air filter. I've read different articles about people saying just stick with the stock paper filter. Feel free to offer your advice on this. I'm not taking out the stock filter until I finish breaking it in.
3. I also love the RTR rear trunk emblem, but I can't find the thing anywhere. Looks like Blue Oval carried it but that's it.
4. Finally I want to lower it an inch or so. So guys what's the best set of springs that offers equal or better ride quality. Eibach? Also do I have to do anything else after a spring installation such as an alignment? Struts?
5. Also staggered 19s or 20s is a must for next spring. Definitely going black on black with a chrome lip or the RTR wheels.
Now let me comment on a few things I don't like, but no car is perfect.
1. I love the ambient lighting, but why the hell does Ford install light blue LEDs for the steering wheel, cluster, and Shaker radio. I can't stand that. Why didn't they just make it white so it can match any ambient color. Can this be modified or changed!!! I don't see anything in the setup pertaining to it.
2. The steering wheel scratches so easily. Now I have a reason not to wear my wedding ring.
3. I wish the height of the seat-belt could be adjusted.
4. I wish Sync would let you browse your audio collection on your iPhone while its plugged in via USB. I just use Bluetooth Audio instead, but of course it drains your battery.
That's about it. I really think Ford outdid themselves with this machine. I love it. I'm really looking forward to you guy's mod suggestions, advice etc....

to lower you car you will need
-springs, i suggest steeda
-adjustable panhard bar (do the brace while your at it its oly another 100 bucks and stiffens the rear
i also suggest doing struts and frpp strut mounts cause you'll have popping noises otherwise.
also if you not fond of wheel hop or the fact the car dog legs to the right on heavy acceleration you need-> rear upper and lower trailing arms and relocation brackets.
btw rtr wheels are heavy (a toush heaver then the brembo wheels from whats been said), you don't have brembos so you have endless options on wheels.
